Job Description

Hope enterprises, is a local civil society organization which was established in 1971. As a pioneering national NGO, it has been serving the needy through transformational investment operating seven branches and area projects in different regions and a university college in Addis Ababa City administration. HOPE involved in holistic human development with concrete interventions by ways of basic care, education, vocational training, job and business mediation and values development. The organization is currently seeking a qualified candidate and experienced Project Officer to join our team.

Job Summary 

The project officer will facilitate networking activities, assist in implementing all project activities, including workshops and conferences, and support the project manager in preparing activity plans and coordinating with SEED program partners. They will also ensure the smooth implementation of SEED Project activities in target areas, produce regular reports, and conduct thorough reviews and monitoring to ensure adherence to schedules and deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and support networking activities,

  • Assist the project manager in the implementation of all project activities including planning, organizing and managing of workshops, conferences and partner events

  • Assist the project manager regarding the preparation of activity plan as per the project document 

  • Exchange and align activities with other SEED program implementing partners 

  • Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the SEED Project activities in the target operation areas

  • Support to plan, design and deliver project activities in accordance with the SEED project agreement

  • Conduct appropriate communication and agreed upon strategies with stakeholders, develop project implementation plans and operational schedules of project visits and activities

  • Support the overall technical implementation of project activities, under the guidance of the Project manager 

  • Produce a monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Conduct in-depth regular review and monitoring of the project, ensure all deliverables are as per the defined and agreed schedule

  • Undertake any other duties as may be requested by the project manager

Working Unit: SEED Project 

Report to: SEED Project Manager 

Terms of Employment: Contact with project life period 

Job Requirements

Qualification: 

  • BA/BSc or MSc/MA Project Management, Vocational management, Development studies, Sociology or TVET related fields.

Required Experience :

  • Good knowledge of TVET strategy and Job creation

  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”

  • Proven working experience in running project and management or similar role

  • Ability to do multi-tasks and work under pressure 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Good time-management skills and teamwork

  • Should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and technical skills

Skills & abilities:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Ability to ensure quality standards are adhered to and understood

  • Strong management skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues.

  • Ability to provide challenge and critique others in a constructive and open manner

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and other local languages 

  • Belief in teamwork and gender equality

  • Very good facilitation and coordination skills

  • Methodological, thorough approach with attention to detail           

  • Excellent record keeping and report writing skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office packages

  • Ability to work in a multi partner environment
