Responsible/report to:  General Manager

Job Summary: -

Medical equipment Technique Service Head will be responsible to overseeing the effective operation and maintenance of all laboratory equipment. Strong knowledge of laboratory reagents, equipment, and their functions is necessary for this position, as is the capacity to oversee a group of service technicians.

Duties

·  Develop and manage the budget for the service department, including costs associated with spare parts, equipment maintenance, per diems, and service contracts.

·  Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising the quality of service.

·  Oversee the scheduling and execution of service requests for laboratory equipment.

·  Ensure timely response and resolution to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.

·  Responsible for a 24-hour response to service requests.

·  Develop and implement a system for managing spare parts and consumables for laboratory equipment.

·  Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement to avoid stock outs.

·  Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and protocols related to laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.

·  Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures as needed.

·  Possess in-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment, including operation principles, troubleshooting techniques, and preventative maintenance procedures.

· Analyze equipment performance data to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.

·  Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of service technicians, ensuring efficient task delegation and performance.

·  Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and training opportunities for professional development.

·  Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the service team.

Requirements

Academic qualification

·  BSc or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Bio medical engineering or laboratory technology.

 Work Experience:

 ·  Minimum 5 years of experience in servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, with at least 3 years in a management position.
