Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC previously known as Kadisco Chemical Industry Plc is a privately owned company located in Addis Ababa in the Akaki Kality Industrial Zone area. Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer.
In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Asian Paints is India’s leading paint company and Asia’s second largest, with a group turnover of USD 2.7 billion. The group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth, and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries.
Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry.
Position Summary :
The EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Officer plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment, and managing environmental sustainability within the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of health and safety protocols, risk assessment, and environmental management practices along with handling a broad range of tasks, on issues related to injuries, incidents, investigations, inspections and Health and Safety observations. including various first-aid procedures and safety checks on equipment and also help set up and operate emergency equipment correctly, person on-site with first-aid training Key
Perform the duties of a Risk as per Regulation Health and Safety Act, Environmental Impact & OHS
Timely investigation and documentation of incidents
. Execution and Evaluation of Safety management system
Actively drive the Safety Management Strategy and facilitate risk assessments
Ensure application and good working knowledge of the following: legislation, managerial procedures, policies and Codes of Practice, Health & Safety Management System, hazard identification and risk assessment, inspect and report on compliance standards and legislative requirements
Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for a specific operation or process.
Conduct ongoing review of operations and processes to identify potential hazards, risks and control measures that should be implemented to reduce these risks, including all costs involved in implementing such measures.
Assess and document hazards, risks and controls in a manner consistent with established procedures and practices.
Set up and supervising temporary work areas.
Supervise the safe handling, storage & disposal of hazardous materials.
Supervise the operation of any potential hazards in the workplace.
Improve workplace safety and employee productivity by transitioning from manual safety procedures to digital
Ensure that all company employees meet all OSHA requirements.
Provide OSHA training if necessary.
Ensure that health, safety, and environmental policies are followed.
Investigate workplace accidents and injuries and refer them to the proper authorities.
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Functional Relationships: Cross functional Managers
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or any safety-related field.
Proven experience of 4 to 6 years for BSc or MSc respectively in EHS management, preferably within a similar industry.

Having EHS professional license will make the profile stronger.
Must have a thorough knowledge of a Safety Management System. (OHSAS 45001), EMS ISO 14001;
Having good experience in report generation.
Experience :
2-years of supervisory capacity
