About Samaritan's Purse

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine. Samaritan’s Purse is privileged to be part of the humanitarian effort in Ethiopia and legally registered as foreign charity to work in Ethiopia since October 08, 2018.

JOB SUMMARY 

The cleaner will be responsible for cleaning and arranging the company guest house and the offices. She/he needs to use cleaning equipment and supplies to maintain a high standard of cleanliness for the premises including sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, dusting surfaces, scrubbing and disinfecting lavatories, and polishing woodwork. In addition, she/he shall carry out all the tasks and responsibilities entrusted to her by Samaritan's Purse with a generous and serving spirit.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing

·       Arrangement of guest rooms and offices, cleaning all the rest rooms and other sanitary facilities, ensuring a healthy environment for guests and employees

·       Conducting the cleaning schedule on a daily basis for the guest rooms and office; which includes, cleaning all the restrooms and making sure of the cleanliness of the staff accommodation.

·       Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate

·       Reporting to the Facilities Custodian/Cleaner Lead about the required detergent materials for the cleaning purpose.

·       Immediately report to the Facilities Custodian/Cleaner Lead about any damages to be repaired in any of the guest rooms or offices or in any other assets belonging to Samaritan's Purse.

·       Support the kitchen staff in preparing the coffee area so that all employees can easily access tea and coffee and ensure the cleanliness of cooking utensils and all parts of the kitchen after the staff finish eating the lunch.

·       Ensure hospitality for all staff, visitors and guests of the office by serving water, coffee or tea and that they are well received in accordance with the ethical conduct of the organization.

·       Collecting and disposing of trash

·       Filing up the water filters every day, ensuring that water filters are disinfected regularly.

·       Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices

·       Other duties assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

 EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE NEEDED

·       Completion of secondary school;

·       At least 1-year work experience in relevant field, preferably in hospitality industry

 LANGUAGE

·       Read and write in Amharic

·       Basic English language skill is a plus.
