Background:

Amref Health Africa was founded in 1957 and has since grown to become the largest African-based international health development organization, currently implementing more than 150 programs which directly reach more than 20 million people across 35 countries in Africa. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, Amref has fully-fledged offices in Ethiopia, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Senegal, South Sudan, and Zambia; eleven advocacy and fundraising offices in Europe and North America; and a staff complement of over 1,500.

The Ethiopia Country office is registered in 2002 and operational for more than two decades. Currently, we are operational in all regions of Ethiopia with more than 300 staffs and wide portfolio of PHC, RMNCAYH-N, Youth Development, WASH and DPC including NTDs.

Purpose:

RMNCAYH (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health) is looking for a self-motivated, intern with a passion for community health. The intern will actively work on ensuring meaningful youth engagement in RMNCAYH program.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and support REACH project

  • Support youth engagement in different RMNCAYH program activities

  • Assist the program staff in different project implementation process

  • Assist in data generation in projects, Literature and work with relevant government stake holders

  • Facilitate financial and administrative procedures during trainings, meetings, workshops

  • Work closely with budget holders to implement youth related activities

  • Carry out awareness on MYE (Meaningful youth engagement) in Amref projects and programs

  • Handle social media accounts and engage in social and community-based campaigns

  • Participate in international, national and regional youth focused meetings

  • Attend different youth related project review meetings and take Minutes

  • Compile youth Innovative ideas to support and easily implement youth related projects

  • Identify and work with regional young people to engage in youth success stories

  • Undertake other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor 

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in health discipline, business, Accounting, social science or any related field of study

  • Volunteering experience in Youth leadership

  • Zero years of work experience

  • Wants to serve for the whole Internship program

  • Good Communication and English Writing skill

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and networking skills.

  • Be a team player and communicator

  • Detail oriented and Responsible 

Required Number - One (1)

Contract Duration - 3 months
