Job Description
Cutting-edge Advisory to Agri-food Sector programme including undertaking GESI programme reviews, training package development, policy frameworks (with a focus on sub-national governance).
Knowledge Management which contributes to internal and external learning in relation to GESI.
Coordination and contribution to global partnerships through our multi-country programmes.
Project and Process development to strengthen programme quality.
People & Partner management and GESI capacity building.

Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Development, Gender, Economics, Social Sciences, or any other relevant technical field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
A minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in development work and project implementation or technical field.
Experience in working with household participatory approaches with local communities in related projects/programs.
Providing technical assistance in Gender Equality, Social Inclusion, Community Engagement and Accountability in the project.
Experience in community work and engagement Agricultural, Economic Development, Livelihood and specific technical expertise such as GESI, Farming Systems, Sustainable agriculture, land use and management or crop production is an added advantage.
Ability to work effectively with multiple partners including (local leaders, government parish, sub-county, village officials), other NGOs, value chain actors in the communities.
Experience in developing and leading implementation of a program GESI strategy, specifically in the Agri-food sector, aligned to organizational SDG5 commitments and values.
Knowledge and experience of identifying social inclusion priorities and approaches within Uganda.
Extensive knowledge of application of a GESI lens on integrated farm planning including intra-household dialogue.
Skills regarding GESI research such as Gender Action Learning and ability to extract and integrate GESI learnings into the program implementation cycle.
Expertise on designing and supporting the roll-out of GESI responsive activities within program for example social behavior change communications for gender based social norms, community dialogues, work with government at sub-national level on GESI responsive services (specifically agricultural extension).
Strong track record in “DO NO HARM” methodologies and experience in training staff, consultants and partners in the approach.
Experience of safeguarding in the context of program implementation and knowledge of reporting systems for organizations.
Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit is an advantage.
