As a CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) Camera Operator, your primary responsibility is to monitor surveillance cameras and ensure the safety and security of the premises. You will play a critical role in deterring theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities by maintaining constant vigilance and promptly responding to suspicious behavior or incidents.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Surveillance Monitoring:

• Monitor multiple CCTV cameras simultaneously to observe activities in designated areas.

• Maintain continuous surveillance of the premises to identify any suspicious behavior or security breaches.

• Pay close attention to details and use camera controls to zoom in or adjust angles for better visibility.

• Respond promptly to security alerts or notifications triggered by CCTV cameras.

• Coordinate with security personnel or law enforcement agencies to address security breaches or emergencies.

• Document incidents and provide detailed reports of observed activities, including timestamps and descriptions.

• Enforce security protocols and procedures to maintain the integrity of the surveillance system.

• Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and company policies regarding the use of CCTV cameras.

• Collaborate with security team members to develop and implement strategies for improving surveillance effectiveness.

• Perform regular checks and maintenance tasks on CCTV cameras and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Troubleshoot technical issues or malfunctions with surveillance systems and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of surveillance footage, including archival storage and retrieval.

• Assist law enforcement agencies with investigations by providing requested footage and documentation.

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to relay important information or updates regarding security incidents.

• Act as a liaison between security personnel, management, and other stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience 

• Diploma or equivalent in IT or related field; additional training in security management or surveillance operations is beneficial.

• 1 year experience as a CCTV operator or in a related security role.

• Proficiency in operating surveillance equipment and familiarity with CCTV software systems.

• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Understanding of security protocols and procedures.

• Can work under  shifting  schedule

Language፡ fluent in Amharic and English and Chinese
