Job Description
The storekeeper is responsible for managing and organizing the inventory of goods and materials within a store or warehouse. play a crucial role in maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of items, and supporting the smooth operation of the organization's supply chain.
Inventory Management:
Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods, verifying their quantity and quality.
Organize and maintain inventory storage areas, ensuring efficient space utilization.
Regularly update inventory records, including stock levels, item locations, and expiry dates.
Conduct regular stock audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
Stock Control and Ordering:
Monitor stock levels and anticipate future requirements to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
Generate purchase orders or requisitions for replenishing stock based on demand and budgetary constraints.
Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of goods and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Implement measures to prevent stock loss, damage, or theft.
Goods Dispatch and Record Keeping:
Facilitate the timely dispatch of goods to internal departments or external customers.
Prepare accurate documentation, such as delivery notes, invoices, and shipping labels.
Maintain proper records of goods dispatched, including tracking information and recipient details.
Handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and security of the store or warehouse.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Maintain a tidy and organized work environment to facilitate efficient operations.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among staff.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and finance, to address inventory-related issues.
Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide prompt assistance.
Work closely with the accounting team to reconcile inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
Provide regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and operational performance.
Degree /Diploma in Procurement/Supply Chain Management
0–2-year Proven experience as a store Keeper
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and maintaining inventory data.
Proficiency in using inventory management software and other computer applications. (ERP SYSTEM
Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
Physical stamina to handle manual tasks, such as lifting and moving heavy objects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
