Job Description

The storekeeper is responsible for managing and organizing the inventory of goods and materials within a store or warehouse. play a crucial role in maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of items, and supporting the smooth operation of the organization's supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  •  Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods, verifying their quantity and quality.

  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas, ensuring efficient space utilization.

  • Regularly update inventory records, including stock levels, item locations, and expiry dates.

  • Conduct regular stock audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records.

Stock Control and Ordering:

  • Monitor stock levels and anticipate future requirements to avoid shortages or excess inventory.

  • Generate purchase orders or requisitions for replenishing stock based on demand and budgetary constraints.

  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of goods and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

  • Implement measures to prevent stock loss, damage, or theft.

Goods Dispatch and Record Keeping:

  •  Facilitate the timely dispatch of goods to internal departments or external customers.

  • Prepare accurate documentation, such as delivery notes, invoices, and shipping labels.

  • Maintain proper records of goods dispatched, including tracking information and recipient details.

  • Handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.

  • Equipment and Facility Maintenance:

  • Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and security of the store or warehouse.

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.

  • Maintain a tidy and organized work environment to facilitate efficient operations.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among staff.

Collaboration and Communication:

  •  Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and finance, to address inventory-related issues.

  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide prompt assistance.

  • Work closely with the accounting team to reconcile inventory records and resolve discrepancies.

  • Provide regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and operational performance.

Job Requirements

  • Degree /Diploma in Procurement/Supply Chain Management

  •  0–2-year Proven experience as a store Keeper

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and maintaining inventory data.

  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and other computer applications. (ERP SYSTEM

  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.

  • Physical stamina to handle manual tasks, such as lifting and moving heavy objects.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
