For GOAL ET, gender equality and social inclusion (including a focus on age, and other social dynamic factors such as disability) are key elements crosscutting all projects and programs.  GOAL ET strongly believes that Project activities must be implemented in impartial and non-discriminatory ways to promote the inclusion, protection, safety, dignity and integrity of girls, boys, women, and men.

 Key Performance required.

·        To lead GOAL Ethiopia’s Organisational Approach to GESI

·        To mobilize resources for GOAL Ethiopia’s portfolio development in GESI

·        To provide technical Support and Capacity strengthening on GESI

·        To lead evidence generation and documentation (Research and Learnings) related to GESI (Values in practice)

 ·        BA/MA in an area related to Gender, Inclusion, Social Science, Development, Humanitarian Studies or other related field with 5 years of progressive experience for BA holders and 3 years for the MA holders, preferably in NGO environment.  

·        Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on gender and inclusion in humanitarian and development projects / organizations.

·        Demonstrable experience driving and undertaking/implementing gender and inclusion analyses, and gender-transformative programming approaches and methodologies. 

·        Experience of working collaboratively with partners (local and national government and communities and international agencies) with a participatory approach. 

·        Good interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead, train and inspire a team and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and build relationships at all levels. 

·        Proven experience and ability in participatory methodologies.

·        Strong training and facilitation skills. 

·        Strong knowledge and application of gender, inclusion, Protection and safeguarding issues. And, demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and cross-departmental initiatives on GESI

Language requirement

·        Ability to speak English, Amharic, and other Ethiopian languages.

 Desirable quality, skill and competence

          Experience in GESI related research.

  • Good communicator to a range of audiences –written and verbal.

  • Highly proficient in MS Office suites, including Outlook and Office 360 suite.

  • A strong commitment to learning and development –for themselves and their team.

  • Self-motivated, highly organized, positive attitude, resilient, willing to learn new skills.

  • Assertiveness, Active Listening, Ability to Follow Instructions, Commitment, Integrity, Attention to Detail, Negotiation and Flexibility Requirements (Person Specification)
