Job Description
The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is a leading international Christian Organization with over 149 years of experience, active in over 30 countries, working towards the vision of “Leprosy Defeated, Lives Transformed.” We are active in projects reducing transmission of leprosy, stigma and discrimination. We are currently recruiting for a Zonal Leprosy Project Coordinator for Dare to Dream Project to work on secondment basis to Amhara Region, East Gojam Zone Health department.
Job Purpose
The overall purpose of the job is to strengthen leprosy program implementation and improve performance through high impact activity interventions and focused health facilities, organizations of persons affected by Leprosy (OPALs) and community support including public, private, and other health facilities in collaboration with the Program coordinator, regional, zonal and woreda TBL officers.
Project Development and Implementation
Assist in designing, planning and implementation of projects
Conduct need assessment in the respective project areas
Involve in designing and planning projects and campaign at zonal office level
Involve and assist in base line assessment and data collection process
Establish zonal level technical working group and organize meeting and share minute
Support in increasing visibility of TLMIE through coordination and planning with existing project and partners’ staff.
Prioritize, plan and coordinate project activities accordingly as per requirements.
Act as primary contact for Dare to Dream beneficiaries queries and concerns.
Participate in prepare project proposals and develop project plan, schedule and budget.
Assess potential risks and technical challenges during project implementation and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
Coordination and Representation
Coordinate and enhance active case finding with the community and health facility level actors
Enhancing routine contact tracing with HEWs and community resource persons
Organize leprosy and skin camps together with zonal and woreda level health offices
Organized training for different community resource persons, HWs and HEWs in collaboration with zonal health office
Support self-care activities at individual, groups and association level
Facilitate the linkage between community and HEWs, HEWs and PHCU and referral hospitals as well as with the OPALs.
Support persons affected by leprosy to be a member of association/OPD in collaboration with women and social affair office
Enhance the existing/establish referral linkage for case finding and management
Coordinate and follow up the activities at community and health facility level
Organize, facilitate and support contact investigation and community awareness activities/campaigns in coordinated manner
Support and ensure quality facility based integrated leprosy screening services at health facility and community level
Identify and share best practice and success stories in the implementation process of the project
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Able to coordinate collaborating NGO and private partners and counterparts Coordinate and assist woreda TBL officers
Coordinate and support any Leprosy control program at zonal level
Represent TLMIE participation on meeting workshop and other any events conducted at zonal and woreda level
Monitoring & Reporting
Conduct baseline assessment together with the project team members
Ensure quality of care and service provision along the patient pathway
Establish local level project advisory committee at zonal level from each project areas/districts
Organize review meeting in every 6 month basis at zonal level with project advisory committee from each woredas and zonal representatives
Support in development of Monitoring tools together with MEAL officer
Support any assessment, monitoring and evaluation activities at field level
Conduct joint supportive supervision and on job training at district health facility and health post level in collaboration with zonal health office
Compile, analyze and share monthly/quarterly reports and provide feedback
Extract and analyze leprosy report from DHIS2
Collect data for TLM global key performance indicators (KPIs) and output data from the health facilities, Organization/Associations of Persons Affected by Leprosy, persons affected by leprosy and other organizations and compile in a quarterly, biannual and annual basis
Monthly Visit or communicate health facilities which reporting new leprosy cases/case based visit and mentoring and providing on job training on leprosy diagnosis, treatment, complication management, recording follow-up and reporting.
Provide technical support for TBL clinic, laboratory department, HIT, Triage, OPDs of each health facilities in collaboration with district and zonal key actors
Closely work with MEAL officer in related to leprosy data handling and management,
Development of tools for beneficiary feedback mechanism, collect the feedback and timely address the complaint and identifying learning.
prepare project progress presentations for project advisory committee
Collect and compile project reports from the community to the zonal level
Support to HFs with standard tools/recording and reporting

Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience working with donor funded programs and Project management, monitoring skills; working with government and working in a multi-stakeholder environment is essential. Evidence of handling complex and diverse program.
Master Degree in Public health and related field from recognized university
Five or more years of work experience on Leprosy program
Project management, monitoring and evaluation skill is required
Competencies
Excellent communication, report-writing and problem solving skills.
Ability to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery of projects.
Experienced in DHIS 2 implementation
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Ability to think strategically; work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of Leprosy Diagnosis, Treatment and complication Management, Data handling and management and disability inclusion is essential.
