Main Responsibility

• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.

• Comply with Accounting Principles, rules, and regulations for financial statements.

• Analyse any changes in goods or services provided to determine what effect it has on the cost.

• Analyse manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

• Analyse costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

• Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect the prices and profitability of products or services.

• Collect cost information and maintain an expense database.

• Analyse and recommend costs and cost savings.

• Prepare and complete internal cost audits and construct data accumulation systems.

• Determine fixed costs (e.g., salaries, rent, and insurance) and record variable costs (e.g., purchases of raw material and operations costs).

• Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.

• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.

• Prepare and analyze report profit margins and budgeting reports.

• Prepare (monthly, quarterly, and annual) cost forecasts.

• Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Skills & Abilities

• Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or similar role.

• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.

• In-depth understanding of IFRS.

• Experience with accounting software, and Computer literacy in MS Excel.

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.

• Strong time management skills.

• knowledge of using ERP systems.

• Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.

Job Requirement

Academic Qualification

• BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, preferably in the manufacturing or Import-Export sector

Experience: 5+ years of experience in related areas.

Workplace: Addis Ababa
