LWF World Service Ethiopia is a registered foreign charity which has been operating in Ethiopia since 1973 implementing various development and humanitarian projects in different parts of Ethiopia. 

LWF World Service Ethiopia works closely with the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), the Ethiopian Government, UN organizations and other funding partners. Duties and Responsibilities of the Position Holder:

  • Receive all incoming telephone calls, and direct them to the appropriate person;

  • Welcome and direct all guest(s) to the person concerned with their affairs, having previously informed that person for the arrival of the guest(s);

  • Handle all messages - incoming and outgoing;

  • Maintain a registration book for all incoming correspondences and publications, sign for them, file - code them, and distribute them to the persons/offices concerned;

  • Maintain a registration book for all outgoing correspondence and ensure its timely dispatch;

  • Handle all filling of all project’s documents in good order and safely;

  • Type correspondences, reports, transmit and receive tele-fax, send and receive e-mail documents;

  • Make photocopies as required, and keep a record of all copies made together with the initials of the receiver of copied;

  • See to the general cleanliness and orderliness of the project office and compound;

  • Maintain petty cash book according to LWF procedures.

  • Prepare for approval checks payment, orders and related documents.

  • Effect payments after ensuring that all requests are approved by the authorized persons and are supported by valid documents such as purchase requisitions, purchase order, request for quotations and goods receiving notes etc.

  • Handover documents for processing to the Accountant after payment is effected.

  • Reconcile cash balance every day.

  • Ensure that all personal advance & working/travel advances are settled within the month.

  • Ensure that income tax, house and/or office rents are paid to the concerned bodies without delay.

  • Travel to bank to handle financial operations such as fund transfer as required.

  • Make sure that cash, checks LWF numbered vouchers, fuel cash coupons and other valuable items of LWF are kept properly and safe.

  • Follow procedure as outlined in LWF World Service Ethiopia Staff Rules, Collective Agreement and other Operation Manuals.

  • Perform other duties in line with her responsibilities as may be assigned to her by the Project Coordinator.

Job Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Secretarial Science & Office Management and any related field of study from a recognized university.

Minimum of two years for Degree and four years relevant work experience for Diploma
