Job Description
Position: Chief of Section, Information Systems and Telecommunications
Chief of Section, Information Systems coordinates ICT services and infrastructure ensuring that the organisation has the required infrastructural resources. They also plan and monitor stages of either a business process or a computer process, negotiate contracts and take mitigation action in case of non-fulfilment of agreements. They oversee the day-to-day tasks involving infrastructure components, ICT systems and software.
Job Requirments
Education: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, PMP, and PRINCE II or any other industry recognized certifications in the areas of information security, risk management, cloud security, and project management are desirable. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
Work Experience: A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related area is required. Out of the ten years, at least five years of experience in management and leadership in a large international organization and/or a UN organization is desirable. Experience in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of ICT technological applications is desirable. Experience in performing or supervising information security assessments and in providing technical advice on the design of highly secure information technology solutions, including cryptographic controls and integrated authentication solutions is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable Familiarity with ITIL and CCM (Cloud Controls Matrix) frameworks is desirable.
Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required; and knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
