Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to join our legal team, reporting directly to the Corporate Counsel. The Legal Counsel will provide essential legal support and guidance to various departments within the company under the supervision of the Corporate Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in corporate law, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, agreements, and legal documents, including but not limited to, vendor contracts, customer agreements, employment contracts, and licensing agreements.
Provide legal guidance and support to various departments within the company, including sales, marketing, human resources, and finance, on legal issues and contractual matters
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data protection laws, intellectual property rights, and employment laws
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues and provide recommendations to senior management
Manage and oversee litigation matters, including working with external counsel, preparing legal documents, and representing the company in court proceedings
Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with legal requirements
Advise on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, corporate filings, and corporate governance best practices
Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations and provide training and updates to internal stakeholders as necessary
Assist in mergers and acquisitions, due diligence processes, and other strategic transactions as needed
Assist in liaising with different government organs.
Handle other legal matters and special projects as assigned by senior management

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
LLB Degree in Law from an accredited law school.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in a similar role, in a multinational company organization, with ideally experience in FMCG
