JOB SUMMARY 

The IT coordinator oversees the creation and management of a beneficiary registration database for household data collected during General Food Distribution in the Tigray region, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards. Analyze the database for duplicates, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with partners like WFP Data Program Officers. Additionally, they assist in developing a tracker database, provide technical support for the M&E team, and maintain IT infrastructure. This includes managing equipment, deploying new technology, and ensuring software updates and antivirus protection. They also handle IT inventory and foster positive relationships with technical support providers and vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Develop a beneficiary registration database of all households’ information collected at the distribution site according to Samaritan’s Purse and WFP’s key indicators.

·       Analyze the database for households registered twice and inform the GFD Coordinator of the woreda for their attention.

·       Ensure that the Data Registration Assistants are entering the household information according to the agreed format.

·       Anticipate problems and troubleshoot solutions to ensure the analysis is comprehensive.

·       Submit analysis reports to GFD Program Manager according to the agreed schedule in collaboration with the Program Manager.

·       Liaise with WFP Data Program Officers to ensure the database is meeting WFP’s data registration needs.

·       Develop the tracker Health system database with the M&E Teams and Health and Nutrition PM.

·       Assist on administrative works and attend meetings representing Samaritan's Purse.

·       Providing technical support as requested by the GFD Program Manager, with a generous and serving spirit.

·       Provide technical support to the M&E team on activities that include digital data collection, and database system deployment and others.

·       Develop and maintain forms and databases that will be useful for operations to ease of business.

·       Provide IT assistant technical support and reporting.

·       Respond to help desk service requests and maintain accurate task log.

·       Maintain, support and repair technical equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers.

·       Install and deploy new equipment, and perform hardware/software upgrades and installations.

·       Insure all end user devices have the latest Antivirus and Widows updates installed

·       Maintain computer images on secondary storages and regularly re-image and reconfigure user laptops, desktops, and other end user devices

·       Maintain accurate and timely IT inventory database.

·       Managing positive relationships with our technical support providers and vendors.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE NEEDED

·       BSc Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer related equivalent subjects.

·       Minimum 4 years’ work experience with INGO’s or UN agencies.

·       Basic Information Management skills.

LANGUAGE

·       Amharic and English (spoken and written required)

·       Tigregnia languages strongly desired
