Job Description

About the Project:  

Enhancing the DFS information flow through innovative channels, is a three-year Bill and Melinda Gates foundation funded project aiming to increase the understanding and usage of digital financial services (DFS) in Ethiopia, with an ultimate objective to facilitate financial inclusion, particularly in underserved rural areas, by harnessing digital technologies. The project focuses on developing a unified knowledge base, supporting the provision of relevant DFS to end users, and fostering trust in the use of DFS in rural and semi-rural populations.

Job Summary:

As an Associate, you will be responsible for contributing to various assessments, reports, and problem-solving exercises as part of the company’s mission to make sense of the Ethiopian and African digital economies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data collection systems, analytics, and strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

  • Acquire data from primary and secondary sources, maintain databases, and conduct data analysis and interpretation using advanced statistical techniques.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and capture insights effectively.

  • Develop effective strategies and implement them for various sectors and industries.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to solve problems, interpret trends, and inform management of project risks.

  • Develop innovative solutions and recommendations to address client issues and challenges.

  • Contribute to and lead the production of reports, case studies, guides, and other deliverables.

  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with team members and clients.

  • Assist in the development of project proposals and presentations.

  • Stay updated on economic and market trends, sectoral activities, best practices, and other developments.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, management, business, engineering, or related fields.

  • At least one year’s experience in the consulting sector as an associate or an analyst.

  • Excellent and proven writing, analysis, coordination, and research skills

  • Strong drive and motivation.

  • Aptitude to grasp new concepts and effectively produce results

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Can perform in a demanding environment with multiple priorities with strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
