 Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation (ECDSWCo.) is transforming and diversifying from the current consultancy business operations. Taking advantage of the existing ECDSWCo.’s strength and maximizing on the newly emerging external opportunities that are being prevalent with the shifts in Ethiopian Economic Policy – the Corporation is aiming to play a significant role to the success of the Ethiopian Construction Industry -by creating a vibrant business institution that will not only fill the gap that is in the current construction industry, but also replace the need for having international construction companies that are dominating the government mega scale projects.

EEC-Construction business unit key activities are high-end complex construction projects, predominately high-rise commercial and residential buildings, real-estate; infrastructure (roads, railways and airports) & water and energy sector construction. EEC-Construction alone would grow into a conglomerate of several business units including Piling, underground and foundation Works, Fit-Out, Energy (Solar Solutions), Electro- Mechanical Solution, Facility Management, Landscape and Construction Materials Production.

 Position Overview/Scope of role:

Responsible for all commercial and contract aspects of a project with a focus on client facing relationships and full contract/commercial performance reporting requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensure that the contract is carried out in a cost effective manner

– manage the Cost Versus Allowable process and Commercial interface ensuring that the base contract profit is maintained.

Make sure that contract compliance is adhered to at all times. 

Ensure that payment certificates are prepared and submitted monthly as per the timelines specified in the CSP.

Ensure that payments are effectively approved and paid by the Engineer/Client.

Manage the procurement team and make sure that they comply with the base commercial terms and conditions and perform within the requirements of the CVA schedule. 

Carry out weekly Commercial meetings incorporating Change Management Control, Variations, Deviations, Procurement Analysis and Cost Versus Allowable impact. 

Ensure that the Monthly Project Reports are accurate and issued per the requirements of the project reporting schedule.Update the CVA with Senior Management and make sure that the CTC and Monthly Costs are Managed in line with the commercial requirements of the project.

Attend Monthly Cost meetings.Carry out instructions as directed by Senior Management & Co-Ordinate the Project requirements ensuring that the Project is delivered on time and in budget.

Understands and Manages Contract conditions and requirements  (PPA, FIDIC, Time & Cost Claims)   

Understands and Manages Commercial requirements:- payment certificates, variations, cost vs allowable, P&G etc...         

Understands and Manages the Commercial Variables of the Project (Commercial Management) 

Job Requirements

Qualification and Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.Work  experience above 3 years Working in similar role in a construction company.

Candidate with International company experience or have worked out of Ethiopia will be given priority

Must be aligned, Commercially Aware, Honest and Shows high levels of Integrity.
