We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee a youth development and empowerment project focused on creating income-generating opportunities for youth in agriculture. The position will be based in Addis Ababa and will involve coordinating activities across both Amhara and Oromia regions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the youth development project in accordance with the established work plan and budget.

• Ensure effective communication and collaboration with field staff in both regions to achieve project objectives.

• Maintain strong relationships with regional authorities in Amhara and Oromia to facilitate project implementation.

• Monitor project progress, evaluate performance, and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.

• Provide leadership and support to field staff, ensuring they are adequately trained and motivated.

• Drive initiatives to empower youth in agriculture, including the development of income-generating opportunities.

• Manage project risks and identify strategies to mitigate them effectively.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in implementing development and livelihood improvement projects at the smallholder farming level.

• Experience in agricultural extension activities, gender empowerment, youth empowerment, and agribusiness planning and development.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
