About the Organization:        

VisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in five of the Regional States of the country. VisionFund MFI is currently looking candidates for the position of Senior Credit Analysis and Appraisal Officer based at the Head Office. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:

1. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives customer requests for loan and loan related issues;

• Advises customers on the available credit products and appropriate loan type for their business;

• Ensures the appropriateness of the presented documents and property or other asset to be held as a collateral;

• Interviews the customer to ensure his/her credit worthiness;

• Visits the business to ensure that documents presented are in line with the business of customer;

• Gathers information on the credit exposure of the customer with other financial Institutions; 

• Forwards full set of customer application along with supporting documents and due diligence analysis report to the Credit Analysis and Portfolio Management Team Leader;

• Forwards recommendation on the loan to be approved for the customer to the concerned loan approving committee;

• Prepares loan contracts to be signed by the customer and the Company;

• Prepares loan disbursement instructions to be sent to branches;

• Makes regular follow-up for the repayment of loans and reminds customer if there are any irregularities;

•   Conducts credit analysis by counter checking the presented financial statements, business plan and other relevant documents;

•   Tests the feasibility of proposals against the prevailing macro/micro economic conditions;

•   Examines the capital employed, the management capacity and business experience of the customer;

•   Assesses and ensures that the loan to be granted to the business can generate sufficient fund to pay back the loan within the scheduled time frame;

•   Ensures that the collateral offered for the loan can cover the amount of loan in case of default;

•   Interprets the results of the analysis and makes recommendation on the basis of the analysis results;

•   compiles information or data received from branches for reporting purpose, and to be used as parameter in developing credit analysis procedures;

•   Undertakes studies and suggests improvements on the existing credit policy and procedures of the Company;

•   presents his/her analysis report and recommendation to the loan approving committee;

• Performs other duties as assigned by his/her Supervisor.

Job Requirements

•   MA/MBA/BA Degree in Accounting, management, Economics or related fields. 

•   A minimum of 5/7 years of relevant work experience in any financial Industry or related organization.

•   Good teamwork;

•   Demonstrated technical ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;

•   Basic computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills;

•   Self-starter and perseverance in character;

•   Be proficient in Microsoft with excellent excel spreadsheet skills;

•   Very good communicator.

       Terms of employment: Permanent
