Organizational Profile:

Save Your Holy Land Association (SYHLA) is a reputable non-profit organization dedicated to humanitarian and development initiatives in Ethiopia. Established in 2001 and officially registered by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia with registration number 0382, SYHLA focuses on improving the social, economic, and physical well-being of communities, particularly the youth. Our work spans various sectors including health, education, humanitarian response, peacebuilding, climate change, and eco-tourism. Through collaboration with individuals, communities, and institutions, SYHLA endeavors to foster positive change in both livelihoods and the environment. Currently, SYHLA seeks a qualified Project Coordinator for the ADA/USAID-funded Activity titled “Family Focused HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Services” which is being implemented in North Wollo and Wagihimra Zones, Amhara Region.

Position Overview:

The Project Coordinator holds the primary responsibility for coordinating, planning, monitoring, and overseeing all program activities. In addition, the Coordinator assumes overall accountability for managing program resources and reporting to the ADA prime. Serving as the program's representative, they are tasked with embracing the program's objectives and efficiently managing both financial and human resources to achieve these objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project activities to align with National and Global Health Agendas, including targets for Ending HIV by 2030.

  • Represent SYHLA and the project to diverse stakeholders including USAID, ADA, government bodies, target communities, and community-based organizations (CBOs).

  • Strengthen partnerships and collaborate with key stakeholders and like-minded partners.

  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and program management support to project officers.

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee all program activities and resources.

  • Assist in producing comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission to ADA and Government signatories.

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical support to project staff and volunteers.

  • Facilitate and participate in meetings, workshops, and trainings as required.

  • Conduct field-level monitoring and submit reports to the Executive Director.

  • Ensure targeted populations are identified, screened, enrolled, and served appropriately.

  • Ensure availability of necessary materials, supplies, and equipment for program activities.

  • Maintain updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and documents.

  • Monitor budget utilization and take corrective actions as necessary.

  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals and annual plans.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the organization.

Term of Employment: Full-time (1 year) with a possibility of extension based on performance or funding availability.

Salary:  As per the salary scale of the organization with different attractive fringe benefits

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • MSc/MA/BSc/BA in Health or related fields, with training in Project Cycle Management and resource management.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience for a Master's degree or 8 years for a Bachelor's degree as a project manager or coordinator.

  • Experience in managing Health or HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care, and Treatment projects for at least 6 years.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational, reporting, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of guiding and motivating teams toward achieving project objectives.

  • Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills, capable of devising effective solutions to complex challenges in the field.

  • Sound understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation techniques, with the ability to assess project progress and outcomes effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, fostering collaboration and synergy.

  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability, enabling successful interaction with diverse communities and stakeholders.

  • Capacity for innovation and creativity, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for program improvement and expansion.

  • Strong commitment to humanitarian principles and values, with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable populations.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of best practices and emerging trends in the field of Health.
