Social Welfare Coordinator

Job Purpose: The social welfare function is concerned with monitoring the social needs in the hosting community in addition to recognizing, implementing existing social policies, plans, and programs of the national strategies in the country. The social welfare function in the Office carries out the duties of preparing and implementing social projects and providing services to target groups to meet their needs in addition to manage sponsorships and orphans affairs and supervise social workers.
Prepare and write projects concept notes and proposals for sponsorships and social welfare programs/projects and submit to the Country Director and Qatar Charity headquarters for approval.
lead and supervise the selection process, of orphans to participate in the sponsorship program, and review the bio-data generated and reports about each participating orphan on periodic basis. .
Coordinate projects activities with partners’ NGOs.
Audit, review and initially approves eligibility of candidates recommended by social workers and partners to benefit from income-generating projects, seasonal projects, and sponsorship program.
Post selected candidates on the enrollment portal electronic system.
Prepare periodic pay roll for the sponsored candidates and submit to the office Manager and Accountant to complete payment procedures.
Write annual reports and carry out periodic review of data entered on the portal electronic system and approve them on time.
Issue reports about the sponsored candidates as requested by supervisors.
Ensure confidentiality of bio-data and information about projects participants.
Prepare and follow up the implementation of projects’ work plans.
Prepare reports for sponsored candidates by categories according to the approved Qatar Charity procedures and ensure data is up-to-date accurate and correct.
Communicate with and facilitate access and reach out to sponsored candidates.
Supervise implementation of projects’ plans according to budget and time frame and ensure progress towards achieving the desired objectives is on timely manner.
Contribute to the mobilization of various types of support from various sources for the benefit of projects and services related to Qatar Charity sponsorship and social welfare activities.
Provide sponsors/donors with progress reports and feedback to their inquires in accordance with Qatar Charity’s policies and procedures.
Contribute to building the capacity of local partners and associations.
Find new funding opportunities for social welfare programs.
Establish strong partnerships with government agencies and civil society organizations working in the field of social welfare.
Any other duties as prescribed by the office Country Director.
Education and Qualification.
(Bachelor's degree): Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Education Sciences.
(Master's degree): Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Education Sciences.
Additional preferred Qualifications:
International Computer Driving License ICDL/ documented computer skills.
Professional experiences:
5 to 7 years’ experience in:
Developmental and humanitarian field.
Fieldwork with NGOs in leadership positions.
Experience in the provision of social services.
Experience in information management and reporting.
Languages
Reading, writing, and speaking fluently (Arabic, and English).
