Background to the Position

As part of our strategic initiative to enhance our Seafarer Training, Development, Wellness and Benefits program we are employing a Career Development Officer

Main Purpose of Job

To develop and maintain a comprehensive training program for Junior and Senior Officers that aligns with EMTI’s high standards and meets the training needs of EMTI officers and client shipping companies.

Key Responsibilities

Training Program Development and Maintenance

• Develop, implement, and continuously update comprehensive training programs and materials that align with EMTI

• Ensure training programs are compliant with STCW regulation requirements for both Operational and Management levels.

• Coordinate with the Training Manager to ensure officers are prepared for national certification

Collaboration and Coordination

• Maintain effective communication with governmental offices, shipping clients, and internal departments to align training programs with operational

• Work closely with shipping clients to adapt training sessions and materials that meet their specific

• Coordinate with other departments to agree on training issues that impact timelines and

Officer Support and Development

• Brief officers before deployment on training requirements for their next rank and follow up on their progress while onboard.

• Identify individual training and development needs to help officers advance in their

Training Quality and Compliance

Job Requirement

Ideal Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Education, Maritime Studies, or related

• Experience: Experience in training and development, preferably in the maritime

• Skills: Proficiency in training software, excellent communication, and organizational Understanding of EMTI’s training needs and objectives.

• Attributes: Strategic thinker capable of aligning training programs with business objectives, proactive, and adept at managing relationships with various
