Job Description
Lead the livelihoods interventions planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting as per nature based solution approaches and principles;
Contribute in the strategic planning, scheduling, assessments, monitoring and evaluation of the project;
Continuously strive to improve the quality of the livelihoods projects in line with sustainable livelihoods approaches;
Promote partnership and collaboration with people of concern and primary focus groups throughout the project cycle;
Provide inputs to the design & utilization of project information gathering tools & project activity manuals;
Represent LWF in community meetings, food security or emergency response meetings;
Monitor, evaluate and suggest changes and improvements in the project and materials based on observations and discussions with direct supervisor;
Prepare timely Verification/Completion Certificates for all properly completed works to facilitate proper and prompt payment to Partners/contractors
Keep track of the stock levels of project material and goods;
Maintain a proper record and filing of project documents;
Collect, analyze, document and share learning and best practices in the areas livelihoods and food security;
Prepare quarterly, biannual and annual performance reports for the activities under his/her responsibility,
Ensure mainstreaming of LWF Ethiopia’s cross-cutting issues of gender equity, HIV&AIDS and environmental protection, child protection throughout project cycle management;
Ensure compliance with LWF’s policies in project implementations;
Perform any other duties as assigned to him by the project coordinator or his designate.
Msc/BA degree in any one of the following disciplines; Rural development and agricultural extension, Agriculture, Economics or other field of study;
At least six years’ experience in an international NGO preferably in an emergency or post-conflict setting;
Solid understanding and commitment to core humanitarian principles, livehoods approaches and government ivehhoods policies;
Experience in supporting and facilitating the capacity building efforts among team members and local partners;
Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training, mentoring and other formal and non-formal methods;
Analytic and computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, design packages;
Experience with digital data gathering will be an added advantage and
Significant work experience in directly related field will be considered in lieu of specific agriculture and livelihood projects in nature based approaches.
Experience working with food security and livelihood in a complex and volatile contexts;
Good knowledge of English and local language and
Context related skills in Tigray region.
