General Duties and Responsibilities of the Accountant:

  •  Maintaining accounting control by following policies and procedures; and complying with state financial legal requirements and organization guidelines.

  • Posting transactions on Peachtree daily

  • Preparing journal entries and account analysis, vouchers, Invoice, cheques, CPOs, and transfer letter

  • Preparing and arranging all the required documents for the annual financial audit and taxes.

  • Performing bank reconciliations

  • Preparing project-based budget tracking reports and analysis

  • Summarizing financial status by collecting information; and preparing a balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements yearly, quarterly, and monthly.

  • Preparing and facilitating monthly staff payrolls, and tax (IT, VAT, With Holding Tax, Pension).

  • Securing financial information by completing database backups.

  • Supporting the finance manager in preparing all the documents needed for the day-to-day operations and audit process.

Qualification and Experience:

  • BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, and other related fields.

  • 3 years and above experience in the finance and accounting position

Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge in accounting software/Peachtree/;

  • Advanced knowledge in project-based financial tasks

  • Good software knowledge other than Peachtree is a plus

Technical and other skills:

  • Good Knowledge of IFRS

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian accounting, taxation, and labor rules/regulations

  • Good knowledge of the International Standard Report System (IFRS).

  • Good knowledge of corporate finance and information analysis

  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office package

  • Demonstrable project finance management skills
