The company has already developed and handed over the fully developed Sheger Apartments, located in the splendid forest hill at Addis Gebeya, Addis Ababa. Currently, the company is developing the Anbessa project, a 35,000 sq. m plot situated in the center of Addis Ababa. Additionally, the company is finalizing the acquisition of a 20,000 sq. m land adjacent to the property, where modern malls and business centers will be built.
With the goal of becoming the largest and most recognized builder of real estate in Ethiopia, the company aims to provide exceptional residential and commercial properties.
The Senior Site Engineer/Construction Project Manager (COTM) plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. This individual is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. With a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, the Senior Site Engineer/COTM coordinates with various stakeholders to deliver successful construction projects.
1. Project Planning and Management:
· Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
· Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
· Monitor project progress and take proactive measures to mitigate risks and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
2. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
· Implement quality control procedures to ensure that construction activities meet regulatory standards and project specifications.
· Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to identify and address any deficiencies in workmanship or materials.
· Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
3. Budget and Cost Management:
· Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, forecasts, and financial reports.
· Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-saving measures whenever possible.
· Negotiate contracts and change orders with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to optimize project costs.
4. Team Leadership and Communication:
· Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including site engineers, supervisors, and laborers.
· Foster a collaborative working environment and promote effective communication among team members.
· Resolve conflicts and address performance issues in a timely and constructive manner.
5. Stakeholder Relations:
· Liaise with clients, consultants, government authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives and expectations.
· Provide regular updates and reports on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.
· Manage stakeholder expectations and address any concerns or feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Master's degree preferred.
· Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on site engineering and coordination.
· Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
· Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and building codes.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
· Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
· Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are desirable but not required.
