Job brief

Our school is seeking an Art Teacher to provide instruction in the Fine Arts to our students. To excel in this position, you must be able to work with students of different ages and talent levels, from those taking their first class to more senior-level students working toward IGCSE certification. Although the curriculum is Key stage 2, Key stage 3 and IGCSE, you will be responsible for some curriculum development. You must have at least a Bachelor's degree in fine arts, with a focus on education. You must also have experience with a variety of visual arts, including painting, sketching, and sculpting. 

As an Art Teacher, you’ll be responsible for individual students – as well as whole class learning to meet the learning needs of the students based on the syllabus and lesson material. Duties and Responsibilities

• Write a lesson plan for each class

• Lead classes with a combination of lectures and hands-on practice

• Help students improve their artwork 

• Assess student projects with their skill level and style in mind 

• Submit grades for your students at the scheduled report period

• Advise students who are hoping to pursue a career in the arts 

• Set up necessary material for classes 

• Track student attendance and class schedules

• Escort and supervise students in field trips and school activities

• Informing parents of their children’s progress

• Help students adjust, learn and socialise and report about possible behavioural issues

• Attend staff meetings and do professional development courses

• Review schemes of work

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education (Fine art) or bachelor’s degree in fine art and Post grad diploma certificate in education 

• Teacher's license 

• Strong communication, teaching, and time management skills 

• Experience working with children of various ages 

• Experience with different visual arts 

• Competent in speaking and written English

• Minimum of two years of experience as an Art Teacher

• Cool-tempered and positive attitude

• Firm but kind personality

• A love for teaching and the ability to build a trusting relationship with students, teachers and parents.
