About the Organization
The Health, Development and Anti-Malaria Association (HDAMA) is a Civil Society Organization established in 1998 to respond to the increasing impact of Ethiopia's devastating malaria outbreak. The then Ministry of Justice officially registered the Association as an indigenous NGO. Currently, the Association has re-registered and acquired a legal personality with registration number 0419 as a local organization in accordance with the Civil Society Organization Proclamation No, 1113/2019.
HDAMA envisions seeing a healthy society with sufficient livelihood opportunities and a safer environment. Since its establishment, the organization has served vulnerable communities through integrating various health and development programs which contributed to the reduction of disease burdens such as malaria and HIV/AIDS through its strong collaboration and partnership experience with a range of bi-lateral, multi-lateral and government organizations based on trust and mutual understanding.
About the Project:
Sexual Reproductive Health and Sexual Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Management Project for Vulnerable Communities working in the industry parks and surrounding environment in the three industry parks in the Amhara Region.
Period of Employment: Up to 6 months with limited/no extension probability
Location: Amhara Regional State, Ethiopia (1 for Kombolcha and 1 for Debre Birhan)

About the Project
This project will improve the sexual and reproductive health and well-being of girls, women, and youth in industrial park and surrounding communities by providing comprehensive SRHR information, promoting SGBV prevention, and offering response services.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team!
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions on SRHR and SGBV issues.
Provide accurate and confidential information on SRHR and SGBV to vulnerable populations.
Conduct needs assessments to identify and address the specific concerns of clients.
Develop and implement individualized case management plans.
Prepare and document counseling sessions and client success stories.
Make referrals to relevant medical, legal, psychosocial, and other services.
Maintain confidentiality of all client information and records.
Contribute to the development and implementation of workshops and trainings on SRHR and SGBV prevention.
Collaborate with other project staff and stakeholders.
Proficiency in case management and counseling software (preferred).
Qualifications:
University degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Psychiatry or a related clinical fields with a specialization in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).
Substantial knowledge of MHPSS, Mental Health GAP (mhGAP), Psychological First Aid (PFA), and counseling concepts.
In-depth knowledge of family planning methods, including administration and use (emergency, short-term, and long-term).
Knowledge on SRHR and/or SGBV interventions focused on vulnerable groups.
Experience providing individual and group counseling.
Strong understanding of SRHR and SGBV issues, particularly youth-focused interventions.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
Fluency in Amharic and English is required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
Additional Requirements:
Valid professional license (if applicable).
Resilience to work in conflict affected settings is an asset.
Knowledge on donor-funded projects or international organizations is a plus.
