Job Description
German Leprosy and TB Relief Association Ethiopia (GLRA-Ethiopia) is a non-profit international NGO working in the field of TB, Leprosy and other NTDs as well as on Humanitarian aid and Socio-economic rehabilitation.
Purpose of the Job:
The main purpose of the job is to coordinate the implementation of GLRA Ethiopia medical projects which mainly focuses on the prevention and control of Leprosy, TB & NTDs, Humanitarian aid and research. The post holder will play a great role in implementing DAHW medical strategy and policy in GLRA Ethiopia program
Plan, organize, coordinate implementation of GLRA Ethiopia medical projects
Responsible for definition, development and implementation of DAHW medical-social policy at country/ project level
Responsible for development of country strategy for DAHW medical activities with collaboration with other GLRA staff
Ensure technical state-of-the-art support to partner projects
Develop proposal for funding of medical project
Provide necessary support for sustainability and quality of medical Projects
Work in collaboration with the National Programs of Ethiopia and others relevant stake holders
Stay updated on all technical issues in the fields of leprosy, Tuberculosis, TB/HIV and others NTDs.
Stay updated on national health and DAHW policies
Contribute/participate in relevant training activities for health personnel
Facilitating and conducting review meetings & timely submitting its reports
Conduct regular monitors/supervises to the project implementation sites
Compiles, analyzes and reports lessons learned, challenges & gaps encountered with the corrective actions taken & recommendations.
Collecting and compiling project activities, and reporting them to GLRA-Ethiopia.
Undertakes any other tasks/duties as directed by the employer.
Employment type: Fixed term for 6 months with possibility of extension depending on the availability of budget
Salary: based on GLRA scale
Essential
Master degree in Public Health or health related fields with clinical background (MD, HO or BSC nurse)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in TB, TB/HIV, Leprosy and other NTD program management
TOT or basic training on comprehensive national TB, TB/HIV and leprosy is advantageous
Previous work experience in National, Regional and/or Non-governmental organizations is advantageous
Experience in proposal writing for co-funding
Good experience in networking and team work
Planning and monitoring skills, ability to facilitate trainings, review meeting, supportive supervision
Computer literacy required
Good English writing and speaking
