An exciting opportunity to head up the NRC’s Area Programme Manager Ethiopia Shire.
What we are looking for
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and dynamic Area Programme Manager in Ethiopia Shire.
More About the Role.
The Programme manager is responsible for implementing integrated programmes and represents the NRC at coordination forums, as delegated by the Area Manager and member of the Area Management Group. The following is a brief description of the role.
What you will do
Line management for Core Competency project managers and coordinators.
Compliance and adherence to the NRC policies, guidance and procedures;
Responsible for ensuring programme support to the integrated programme, coordination and technical quality in Area operation;
Provide area-specific input relevant to CC strategies;
Compliance with donor standards, grant management and regular reporting to donors in the Area;
Identify funding opportunities and develop funding strategy and forecasts;
What you will bring
BA in Sociology, Economics, Agricultural Livelihoods or related social science is required
MA in business administration in the field of studies related to management is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years experience in a management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
Experience designing and managing Integrated Programmes
Experience and working knowledge of Durable Solutions
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

Travel: frequent field travels
Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC’s Ethiopia Office, salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
