The Opportunity

The position holder is responsible for facilitating the implementation of child protection in emergency projects in targeted woreda in close collaboration with district & kebele key stakeholders. He/she is expected to ensure that the project is implemented with the Minimum Standard of Child Protection in Emergency and Plan International Child Protection in Emergency Policy and Guidelines.

Job Requirements

The Individual

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Law, Political Science & International Relations, community development, or other related field of social science studies.

• Strong experience (5 yrs) in the child protection sector and technical understanding of CP data management, policies, conventions…etc

• Experience in designing and facilitating training and capacity building on child protection, counseling, and/or case management technical areas with a variety of audiences.

• Experience in community mobilization and conducting outreach activities, preferably in Guji/West Guji Zone or Borena zone who is experienced in the management of child protection in emergency projects.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

• Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC).

• Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

• Ensure that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
