About the Role

The Center for Justice (CfJ)) is seeking for Project Coordinator to support the project deliveries of our projects in Ethiopia. You will be based in CfJ’s office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Reporting to the Programs Manager, you will be the key player in improving employee wellbeing across various projects. You will collaborate with the Programs Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of CfJ projects
   About Center for Justice (CJ)

Center for Justice (CJ) is a civil society organization that works on human rights, rule of law, democracy, and peace and dialogue. Its work mainly focuses on the protection of human rights in the three pillars of the Ethiopian Criminal Justice System with the particular focus on the protection of human rights of persons under incarceration. Its prison works focus on improving the overall legal frameworks governing Ethiopian prisons in a way that fulfills the human rights of inmates and the improvement of prison services at the facility level. It uses a mix of advocacy and lobbying, research, capacity-building and practical programmes in crime and justice to improve the overall condition of the Ethiopian prisons. 
CJ was registered as a legal entity on October 18/2007 (It got re-registered as per Proclamation 1113/2019 at the Federal Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) under registration number 0865). Centre for Justice (CJ) was initially founded as Initiative for Improving Standard of Prisons in 2007. It rebranded itself as Center for Justice in order to let its activities cover human rights issues of inmates from start to finish in the Ethiopian Criminal Justice System. 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and monitoring project plans and prepare activity schedules and work plan.

• Ensure establishment of project Monitoring and supportive supervision system, and design reporting templates, and provide progress report (narrative) to CfJ.

• Identifying, escalating, tracking and resolving project issues on an ongoing basis, and proactively reporting to the Project Manager issues which require wider attention and resolution.

• Developing appropriate narrative reporting  for the Programs Manager’s review in order to meet CfJ and donor’s requirements

• Facilitating accurate project budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that activities costs are kept within budgets

• Developing Terms of Reference

• Ensuring timely monthly project reporting on projects progress achieved, project  plans, changes in direction and challenges encountered

About You

Required Professional Experience

• Minimum  of  five  years working experience with CSOs or criminal justice organs 

• Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

• LLB/LLM/MA  in Law or other  related fields
