Ethiopia Cuttings Plc is a part of the Syngenta Flowers Lawn & Garden business division, having a significant investment in East Africa we are currently looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join our highly motivated team of professionals at our Koka Site 100km from Addis Ababa in the following position;

ROLE PURPOSE 
Responsible for installation, Assembly, testing, operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, Refrigeration system and air conditioning, electronic wiring, motors and pumps and other equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures found in an electrical industrial setting.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and refrigeration equipment 

• Assemble, install, test, repair and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, motors and pumps and other equipment’s, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, Refrigeration system and air conditioning units and

• direct and train workers to do the same.

• Supervise, coordinate and participate in the preventive, curative and troubleshooting maintenance activities of the plant equipment. 

• Follow (Study and interpret) Plan layout in installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, to new buildings based on job specifications and local codes.

• Prepare and Discuss Bill of Quantities for internal clients and equipment and running costs.

• Diagnose (repair) malfunctioning systems, equipment, apparatus, and components to locate the cause of a breakdown and replace or correct the problem.

• Perform Preventive Routine maintenance (SAMACO) on Refrigeration and electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and ensure systems reliability.

• Prepare sketches and follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety standards.

• Carry out root cause analysis of systems failures in equipment’s and keeps current and accurate records of each equipment’s writes analytical reports on the same. 

• Comply with Company Environmental Health and safety policy while executing my duties and promote it awareness of it among staff. 

• Effecting preventive maintenance schedules of various machinery and instruments to increase machine up time thereby accomplishing planned production targets within budget. 

• Conduct Toolbox meetings with colleagues and subordinates to discuss safety and methods of works. 

• Analyze electrical engineering problems and provide practical, cost-effective solutions. 

• Develop and Implement standards of routine maintenance and procedures to increase the efficiency of maintenance process, while ensuring adherence to quality standards thus reducing equipment

• down time and achieving annual cost savings. (Improved productivity by technology management.)

• Proactively identify areas of problems or breakdowns and take steps to rectify the faults through application of trouble shooting tools.

• Prepares and/or maintains personnel and/or payroll documents, including documentation regarding work performance and attendance. 

• Participates in planning, coordinating, staffing, and monitoring of work activities of subordinates.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Degree/Diploma in Electricity from a recognized University/College.

• Minimum 3 year

  Critical Knowledge: 

• Thorough knowledge of the operation and care of equipment, tools, and supplies related to electrical and electronics technology

• sound knowledge of the methods, techniques, practices, materials, and supplies used in the electrical and electronics industry

• use of a wide range of hand and power tools

• an awareness of health and safety issues 

• panel building – putting together control panels that operate a building's lighting, heating and ventilation systems etc

• repair and service – fixing faults in machinery, for example replacing the motors and pumps 

• instrumentation – installing and maintaining systems that measure the efficiency of a of electrical system 

• coordinating the work of technicians and craftspeople 

• knowledge on testing installations and systems, and analyzing test data 

• Proactive approach to preventive and curative maintenance.

  Critical experience: 

• the ability to work quickly and pay attention to detail the ability to work alone without direct supervision and to deadlines.

• the ability to understand technical plans and drawings
