Job Description

Tamra for Social Development Organization (TSD) is an indigenous civil society organization working for more than 26 years in different community development programs in Oromia, Addis Ababa, Sidama and South Ethiopia regions. Currently, the organization would like to recruit potential and talented candidates for the following position to substitute a maternity leave period.


Position summary: Under the overall administrative and professional direction and supervision of the Project Coordinator combines project coordination and gender advisory responsibilities, ensuring that gender equality and social inclusion principles are effectively integrated into all aspects of the project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, gender mainstreaming, and stakeholder engagement. 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:

  • Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with the program objectives and timelines.

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day activities of the project, ensuring timely delivery of outputs and outcomes.

  • Engage with key partners, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to foster a cohesive and inclusive approach.

  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Program Manager 

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, activity reports, and financial records.

Gender Mainstreaming:

  • Provide technical expertise on gender mainstreaming strategies and practices within the project.

  • Develop and implement gender-sensitive training modules and materials for project stakeholders.

Capacity Building:

  • Conduct capacity-building sessions for partners on gender equality, social inclusion, and Just Transition principles.

  • Support partners in integrating gender perspectives into their policies, programs, and activities.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement a gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation framework.

  • Collect and analyze data to assess the impact of gender inclusion initiatives and recommend improvements.

Job Grade: V (Five)

Place of Work: Addis Ababa, with limited travel to project offices and operation areas. 

Employment Type: Full time

Salary: Negotiable 

No. of person required: 1 (one)

Job Requirements

Required Educational Qualification

  • MBA/MSC/BA/BSc Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. 

  • 2/4 year of experience as a Program Coordinator, Projects manager, programs coordinator, project office coordinator, project team Leader in NGOs/CSOs. 

  • Excellent written and spoken skill in English and Amharic. 

  • Excellent computer skill specially in MS-Window, Internet and Database management.

  • Good interpersonal relationship, communication, negotiation and motivation skills. 

  • Ability to perform under pressure and creative in solving problems. 

  • Experience in any voluntary service is a bonus. 

  • Willingness to carry out any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
