Job Description
Junior accountants are trained financial professionals who provide support to businesses by managing daily accounting and financial tasks. They compile reports and prepare, maintain and reconcile financial statements and other financial documents.
Duties and Responsiblites:
Comply with all financial regulations and standards.
Monitor and analyze cost variances, tracking expenses related to import and export activities.
Ensure accurate data entry into the Peachtree system for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
Stay informed about local, state, and federal tax regulations affecting the import and export business.
Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.
Assist in generating financial reports and statements.
Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial discrepancies.
Assist senior accountants with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1 year relevant experience in Trading Company or similar industry.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
