Job Description

  • Ensure and constantly verify all system updates concerning data stock items, regarding name, packing, weight and units.

  • Assist and coordinate all product and purchase specifications from the various heads of department by means of a purchase request (PR) and maintain files of these purchase requests together with purchase orders (PO).

  • Coordinate with the Storekeeper by reviewing periodically the established min/max storerooms stock levels for update requirements 

  • Acquire three (3) price quotations from various sources to determine the lowest cost while maintaining the best quality for any item(s) requested by the different departments.

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of certain computer data namely: Inventory Items, Par Stock, items to be included as inventory items, re-order points, item listing, Purchase Orders, Unit of Measure, and inventory levels for all items maintained in inventory.

  • Determine and administer policies and procedures relating to shipping/receiving and storage of equipment, supplies and materials.

  • Coordinate purchase specifications for food & beverage & General items in conjunction with purchasing, receiving, and issuing.

  • Ensure that every department in the hotel receives goods and services as required and to the standards they have specified at the best possible price.

  • Ensure that all company policies, procedures and minimum standards are adhered to in the Materials Department.

  • Meet with suppliers, representatives and to obtain information, specifications and quotations on any item required.

  • Assist in the selection of reliable regular supplies for all inventory items and to obtain weekly or bi-weekly price list for daily produce and other food and beverage.

Job Requirements

  • B.A degree/Diploma in supplies and Logistics Management, Business administration or Accounting.

  • Minimum 4 years for /7 years relevant experience, preferable in Hotel Industry and Familiar with both Food and Beverage items.

  • Training in Food safety Management – is an advantage.

  • Training in import export – especially single window system is an advantage and is familiar with customs requirement.

  • EFDA – rules and regulation and practical exposure is also an advantage 

  • Good English communication skill

  • Driving experience and skill is a must
