Job Description

The Opportunity

The position holder will be responsible for the planning and implementation of FSL program in the assigned county in collaboration with the Food Security and Livelihood Officer, and Health Nutrition Coordinator. He/she should also liaise with the Agriculture office and Busa Gonofa in executing of FSL activities in the community in Dubluk.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted. 

Job Requirements

  • BSC in Agriculture or other relevant field with 3-5 years of field experience in food security, agriculture, and livelihoods, including experience in emergency response and recovery following natural disaster

  • An up-to date understanding of food security, risk reduction, emergency response, early recovery, sustainable development and livelihoods concepts.

  • Knowledge in designing and implementing appropriate and effective safety nets, including cash and/or food transfer programming.

  • Familiarity with design and programming processes of different donors and a general familiarity with recent initiatives such as Feed the Future.
