Women Empowerment-Action (WE-Action)
Women Empowerment-Action (WE-Action) is an indigenous non- political, non- religious, non-profit, humanitarian and development-oriented organization working in Ethiopia to the improvement of the social, economic, and physical well-being of the poor women in particular and the community in general. Currently the organization is operating in four regions SNNPR, Oromia,Tigry and Amhara National Regional States.
WE-Action envisions “Envision a Gender Just Ethiopia”.

Currently, WE-Action is seeking to hire competent, qualified and interested candidate for the position of GBV Case Worker who is responsible to the implementation of “Integrated GBV Response” Project, Oromia Region, Horo Gudru and East Wolega Zone, Ethiopia.
Position: GBV Case Officers
Duty Station: based at each respective Woreda center (Amuru, Jarte,Jardega, Horo Buluk,Kiramu, Gida Ayana and Sasiga ) Horo Guduru and East Wolega Zone, Oromia Region,
Salary: As per the organization’s scale
Number of positions: 6 (Six)

Duration: : for one year & possibility extends based on performance evaluation result and availability of budget
General duties and responsibilities
The GBV Case Officer will work to ensure improved quality of health and psychosocial support for survivors, support development of a functional referral networks that enhance survivors’ ability to receive confidential, safe, and timely services that meets their needs in a timely manner. She will oversee Case management and psychosocial support services provided to survivors of gender-based violence and women and girls in general, implementation of basic psychosocial support activities for women and girls at the outreach sites and local partner support.
Program Implementation:
Provide direct support and care for adult survivors of GBV and age-appropriate specialized support and care for adolescent, and girl child survivors of GBV, including counselling and case management.
Follow GBV guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, and safety/security and non- discrimination while providing services.
Ensure proper documentation of reported GBV incidences through utilization of GBV IMS case intake, action, follow up and other case management forms appropriately.
Ensure all documentations on reported cases and referrals made are updated, accurate, organized and well maintained by social workers.
Work with stakeholders to develop and strengthen referral networks and monitor the implementation of the referral pathway to improve survivors access to confidential, safe GBV services in a timely manner to meet their needs
Ensure adherence to GBV guiding principles and the provision of survivor-centered care (respect wishes, decisions of survivors).
In consultations with women and girls, develop and support to implement a series of age-appropriate and group emotional and social support activities for women and girls, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of survivors of GBV and strengthening support networks among women and girls.
In consultations with Protection Coordinator, develop and implement/ share monthly response plan and GBV key messages/issues based on case trends to disseminate information on services available and referral pathways.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Reporting:
Provide/facilitate GBV trainings for all relevant community actors, including; psychosocial First Aid Volunteers, Community Health Volunteers, women groups, other informal and formal community structures, and any other identified groups on GBV topics, including but not limited to: GBV basic concepts &referral pathways, guiding principles, sexual exploitation and abuse.
In collaboration with the protection Coordinator, facilitate other GBV response capacity building Trainings for referral pathway actors, including: GBV referral protocols/principles, Guiding principles for working with GBV survivors Clinical Care of Sexual Assault Survivors.
Coordination, Relationship Building and Advocacy.
Support fellow social workers and local partner in all response related aspects, not limited to training, sub-agreements, implementation, reporting, mentoring, supervision, monitoring and evaluation throughout implementation process.
Support adherence to GBV referral protocols and guiding principles for working with survivors.
Prepare and submit weekly & monthly reports as required and incorporate supervisors’ feedback in a timely manner, including information related to survivor non-identifying data, treatment provided, follow up visits, drugs availability at health centers that are providing Clinical management of rape (CMR), referrals to other service providers and awareness activities conducted etc.
Participate in the development of procurement and spending plans and work plans to ensure the successful implementation of programs
Ensure supplies/resources are requested on a timely manner for timely implementation of program activities including manage/prepare contingency program stock supplies where necessary.
Utilization of program supplies and resources to ensure efficient use of available resources.
Ensure tracking of key program indicators and progress through utilization of the M&E data collection and indicator tracking tools.
Actively participate and collaborate with M & E section in the establishment of monitoring & Evaluation system of new and existing projects under coordination.
Make regular field visits to projects/programs under coordination for technical support at least one visit per quarter and provide reports
Facilitate and implement project mid and end term evaluations to be conducted by government signatories and external consultants.

Compile, and submit quality projects’ monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Protection Coordinator.
Document daily learning’s in Projects/programs including codifying lessons learned and knowledge of resources/tools/best practices, case studies etc
Gathering appropriate, relevant and accurate assessment /monitoring data from target groups and analyzing data and sharing reports using the guiding principles
Using project MEL plans consider the objectives and performance during regular monitoring visits and supervisions
Timely respond to request of data gathering and reporting for internal or external use
Work closely with M&E personnel and refer to M&E manuals while using tools or templates to gather evidence.
Incorporate safeguarding and program participants risks during each monitoring visit and include in monitoring checklists
Compliance and Performance
Read, understand and strictly respect donors and government compliances and support field office to respect the required compliance.
Strictly follow and adhere to organizational policy and standardization manuals.
Gender and Social Inclusion and Accountability
Participate and contribute for organization gender and accountability work.
Plan, implement and report gender equality, social inclusions and accountability activities in respective projects/programs.
Work in collaboration with the Gender and Social Inclusion coordinator in designing and implementation of gender capacity building for field staffs.
Accountability and transparency
Ensure that communications and products of WE-Action are visible in project area
Adhere to the organization accountability framework; communicate for employees for effective implementations.
Implement WE- Action compliances to Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and develop communities’ capacity accordingly.
Participate in external verification process of WE- Action Core Humanitarian Standards.
Conduct routine risk assessments, monitor and report any issues related to Safeguarding.
Create awareness to community, target groups and peers on safeguarding during weekly, monthly, and quarterly dialogue sessions.
Create awareness to community, target groups and peers on WE-Actions compliant Handling Mechanisms during weekly, monthly, and quarterly dialogue sessions.
Participate in organizational conversations to discuss on cross cutting issues such as gender, HIV, safeguarding, social inclusion etc…

BA/BSC in social work related field (Social work, Psychology, counseling ) or related field
Minimum 3 years of direct experiences in providing GBV response and case management services, preferably in humanitarian or development context.
