Program Background
PETCO Ethiopia is implementing 5-years consortium project joint with Center of Accelerated Women Economic Empowerment (CAWEE) and Ethiopia Enterprise Development. The program funded by the MasterCard Foundation contract to Enable Young Women and Men to Find Dignified and Fulfilling Work in Manufacturing in Ethiopia by capacitating existing SMEs. The program aims to:
Build SME capacity to sustainably create new jobs and improve existing ones through offering tailored business capacity building and mentorship; enhancing access to markets and raw materials flow; and improving SMEs’ human resources capacity to create safe and inclusive working conditions for young women and men.
Improve Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) offerings to better prepare women and youth to enter the workforce (facilitate school-to-work transition).
Facilitate a robust financial ecosystem to help SMEs access tailored financial services that allow them to grow and increase employment opportunities for young women in particular, and to invest in infrastructure that can improve young women and men's working conditions.
Strengthen the enablers (ecosystem) to foster private sector engagement, stakeholder coordination synergy, and policy development for sustainable and scalable job growth
Provide administrative support, handling office maintenance tasks, and assisting with arrangements to ensure the smooth operation of the project office.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the main/project office, including workstations, meeting rooms, kitchen areas, and restrooms, by performing regular cleaning and sanitation duties.
Monitor and replenish office supplies, including stationery, kitchen supplies, and cleaning materials, to ensure adequate stock levels for daily operations.
Assist in the organization of office spaces and furniture arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, ensuring that all facilities are prepared and set up according to requirements.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, and deliveries, distributing them to the appropriate recipients and maintaining accurate records of correspondence.
Perform routine clerical tasks including photocopying and filing documents.
Support the setup and operation of office equipment, such as printers, copiers, and telephones, troubleshooting basic technical issues and coordinating repairs with service providers as needed.
Assist in the documentation and filing of project-related materials, including reports, invoices, and correspondence, ensuring that records is organized and easily accessible.
Provide logistical support for project events and activities, including arranging catering services, setting up audio-visual equipment, and coordinating with external vendors and service providers.
Assist with other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the project management team to support the overall functioning of the main/project office.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience in office support or clerical roles is desirable.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical wellness and ability to perform cleaning and manual tasks.
Punctuality and reliability in fulfilling assigned duties.
Respect for confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Good English and proficiency in Amharic or other local languages is preferred.
