Job Description

A Hydraulic Engineer is responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining hydraulic systems and infrastructure. He or She utilize expertise in fluid mechanics, physics, and engineering principles to analyze and develop sustainable solutions for water-related projects. This role plays a crucial part in the planning and implementation of various hydraulic engineering projects, ensuring efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and analyzing hydraulic systems, including pipelines, channels, drainage systems, and water treatment facilities.

  • Conducting feasibility studies, including site investigations and assessments, to determine the viability and potential impacts of hydraulic projects.

  • Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to develop comprehensive hydraulic designs and engineering plans.

  • Identifying and evaluating potential risks and hazards associated with hydraulic systems, and implementing appropriate safety measures.

  • Performing hydraulic calculations, simulations, and modeling to predict the behavior and performance of water-related systems.

  • Overseeing the construction and installation of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.

Location: South Sudan, Juba 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • Experience: At least 10 years of Proven experience in hydraulic engineering, preferably in the design and construction of hydraulic systems.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.

  • Knowledge of relevant software and tools used in hydraulic engineering, such as AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and EPANET.

  • Strong mathematical and computational skills.

  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessment processes and regulations.
