International Clinical Laboratories (ICL) is one of the largest of independent clinical diagnostic centers on the African continent. ICL has opened its door for service in 2004 with the aim of “contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of the quality of life throughout Ethiopia” by encompassing a system of human and physical resources designed to meet the changing healthcare needs of the population it serves.
It is the only laboratory accredited by the USA based Joint Commission International (JCI) for five times in a row. The laboratory provides more than 3000 tests in collaboration with its referral laboratories.
ICL would like to fill the following vacant positions under the Finance Department We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with specialized knowledge in fixed asset management and lease/rent accounting. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate records of fixed assets, lease agreements, and rental transactions. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure compliance with accounting standards, analyze financial data, and support financial reporting processes.
Fixed Asset Management:
Assist in the tracking and recording of fixed assets acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation/amortization schedules.
Conduct periodic physical inventory checks of fixed assets and reconcile discrepancies with accounting records.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of fixed asset subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
Lease/Rent Accounting:
Maintain lease accounting records, including lease payments, amortization schedules, and adjustments.
Calculate and record monthly lease expenses and ensure compliance with lease terms and accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842).
Assist in reviewing lease agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment and disclosures.
Financial Reporting Support:
Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to fixed assets and lease accounting for management and external stakeholders.
Provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audits related to fixed assets and lease accounting.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to fixed assets and lease/rent.
Maintain organized documentation and files related to fixed asset additions, disposals, lease agreements, and rental transactions.
Process Improvement and Support:
Participate in process improvement initiatives related to fixed asset management and lease accounting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and streamline financial processes.

Salary: - As per the company scale
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably with exposure to fixed asset management and lease/rent accounting.
Basic understanding of GAAP and familiarity to IFRS for lease/rent accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to collaborate with team members.
