We achieve this by engaging in advocacy, capacity development, and family planning initiatives, which make sure the youth of today, are empowered to lead healthy and self-determined lives.

In Ethiopia DSW has been implementing youth focused SRH including HIV/AIDS, Gender, Livelihood and related development programs. Currently DSW is looking for a qualified young professional and experienced in the area of monitoring, learning and evaluation.

Job Summary:  

The project M&E officer support the implementation of DSW M&E systems of the SAfA Project focused on data collection, compilation and analysis  project/s data. The M & E officer is also responsible to provide technical support, conduct regular monitor visit, participate in data quality assessment and DSW Project evaluation. In addition, s/he will work with M&E team to document DSW program/projects good practices.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively participate in the development of proposal/concept note, log frame and M& E plans and integrating M&E into project design.

  • Assist with planning and conducting assessments study design, design or review of data collection tools, data management and quality control for project baseline, mid-term and end line surveys and evaluate studies in collaboration with the team

  • Conduct   data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results of activities undertaken above

  • Develop project/s monitoring and evaluation tools (data collection, analysis etc) in collaboration with the project team 

  • Conduct M and E visits to assess projects implementation and to ensure that project/s are moving in the right direction and identify bottlenecks and solutions

  • Assist with compilation of documents and presentations for M & E trainings for program/project staffs and key stakeholders.

  • Conduct/support the development and implementation of trainings on Quality assurance methodologies, data management and M&E tools.

  • Support knowledge management and learning system  of the organization 

  • Gathering data, information on DSW Ethiopia projects and best practices through designed systems of data collection and other suggested means.

  • Support the documentation of best practices (case studies, end of projects evaluations etc)

  •  Perform other activities as assigned

    Salary and benefits: 

  •  Negotiable based on the organization scale 

    Duty Station:

  • At country office in Addis Ababa with frequent field trips to project areas 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirement

  • Masters degree in Statistics, M&E, Health informatics, Public Health/Social sciences, Demography and related fields.

  • A  5 years practical and direct experiences in M & E  preferably in Adolescent  SRH including  HIV/AIDS , Family Planning and other related areas

  • Computer knowledge mainly on statistical software such as SPSS, EPI INFO and STATA are essential 

  • Knowledge/skill of data collection tools including Comm Care has added advantage 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills particularly in English

  • NGO experiences on monitoring and evaluation is required 

  • Demonstrated ability in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, interpretation as well as learning documentation and sharing
