Purpose of the position

The Logistics Manager oversees all daily logistics operations off beU. S/he is responsible for managing the delivery of food and other items ordered by customers. S/he manages ensures that beU’s logistics operations are continuously improved. S/he ensures that the delivery function is being carried out in an efficient manner. S/he will utilize databases and software to analyze and improve logistics function.

Performance Management and Optimization

Responsibilities and Accountability

Responsible for directing, optimizing and coordinating full order cycle delivery of food and other goods to customers;

Manage daily operations related to dispatching, routing, and order follow-up functions;

Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements;

Continuously implement improvements in the logistics department to increase efficiency;

Leverage current opportunities with an innovative eye to what is possible.

Contract Management Manage & Strategy

Responsible for hiring, on-boarding, development of staff including all coaching and disciplinary actions; 

Supervise the logistics team and drivers to ensure the smooth running of logistics functions;

Provide leadership and direction to the driver support, dispatch and order follow up teams in an effective and positive manner;

Ensure that drivers provide good customer service and treat customers with respect

Resolve any arising problems or complaints;

Collaboration and Support

Collaborate with other departments to ensure the safe, efficient, and customer service driven logistics;

Support with the utilization of beU technology/software to maximize effectiveness and efficiency;

Recommend updates to equipment and software that will improve supply flow and delivery time..

Budget and Target Management 

Keep track of quality, quantity, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency;

Assure that budget allocated for the department is spent efficiently;

Meet and exceed beU’s cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets;

Attend to other duties as directed and instructed by the line manager.

Reporting Line:

The Logistics Manager reports to the Country Manager.

Job Requirements

Qualifications required

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Logistics / Supply Chain Management preferred

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Logistics related role

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

4. Experience working with relevant software and databases 

5. Working knowledge of delivery industry is strongly preferred
