Play an important role in coordinating the Production department, Production Coordinators and liaise with Quality department, Propagation/Elite department, and Agronomy department. 

Responsibilities

• “What” is done and “why,” but not “how;” include indicators for success. 

• Responsible for specific crops and / or greenhouses (to be defined).

• Coordinate harvesting, crop maintenance, bed preparation, planting and uprooting, and other production related activities according to overall crop planning.

• Responsible for efficient way of working and takes care that mentioned activities take place in time / according to the production planning.

• Introduce a fair system of measurement performance of workers to improve their performance and plan the work (Key Performance Indicators).

• Record crop specific information, such as planting data in order to supply Logistic officer production with adequate information to keep PAT up to date.

• Keep a critical eye on crop quality to improve crop productivity and be ahead with problems.

• PC check every week.

• Solve worker’s problems by dealing with them to have productive working environment for the better performance. 

• Proactive attitude in problem identification and reporting.

• Discuss planning of every activity with the department head together with status report.

• Attend Operational meetings and contribute to the issues by making good preparation.

• Administer Employees under his supervision and be involved in hire, layoff, and other HR activities.

• Communicate critical issues of the department to immediate supervisor. 

• Continuously investigate innovative ideas and improvements to optimize efficiency in operation.

• PC management: weekly control and long-term availability management (prepare shaving plan)

• Gathering information from Trials in greenhouses in order to make appropriate product evaluation and set up realistic PC curves.

• Take an active role in cooperation between Production department, Quality department, Propagation/Elite department, and Agronomy department.

• Replacing Head of Production when absent concerning management of Production department (OMT meeting)

• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

• Effective communication with agronomist and quality controller concerning (changes in) the daily work plan.

• Work according to Green Trust regulations.

• Play Active role in weekly operational meeting.

• Entitled to hire and layoff lower-level employees within the Production department in connection with the HR department.

• Improve work procedures and standards in order to increase efficiency within the company.

• Take part in requirement planning and basic operation planning with all side communication to concerned bodies.

• Report the accomplishment periodically to the department together with proposals for improvement.

• Build capacity of group leaders through good coaching, orientation, and training.

• Performs other related duties as may be required.

Job Requirement

• BSC Degree in horticulture, Agronomy, Plant science or related field with 5 years relevant work experience.

• Skills specific to the Post

• Language writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills in all English, Amharic and Oromifa.

• Analyzing information and Verbal Communication.

• Good interpersonal skills and Proficient in computer skills.

• Strong people management/ leadership skills.

• Career Level: Senior Level (Minimum 5 years’ experience)
