Job Summary
The Grant Communication Specialist will be in charge of the organization communication and branding which includes success story collection, capturing photos and videos of MTI activities, preparing interviews and B-rolls, prepare contents for MTI HQ social media teams use , and overall donor visibility compliance, S/He will facilitate liaison with government and stakeholders to address various requirement such as report, Letter of Understanding (LOU), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)s. S/He will also organize and facilitate monthly program review meetings in coordination with country office teams. The Grant Communication Specialist will also support the program and Grant Coordinator on her day to day as a member of the program team.
Organize and capture social media content to represent Ethiopia in Medical Teams’ social media channels, as requested by HQ Marketing.
Visit field locations to gather impact stories and images to use in communication materials, ensuring content meets our organizational photo policy and consent standards. Upload stories, images, captions and other content to the HQ office digital asset management system as requested.
Manage country camera gear.
Prepare stories, videos and photos based on the request from donors
Facilitate periodic media inquiries in coordination with HQ Marketing.
Collaborate with HQ Marketing to ensure Medical Teams visibility and branding materials are of high quality and meet Medical Teams brand requirements
Provide visibility and communication training and refreshers to all MTI field offices and country office staffs.
Preparation of quality assurance and visibility compliance, and submission of donor and government reports. Coordinate, schedule and facilitate the monthly Program review meetings and share action points Preparation and Compilation of the Organization’s Annual Plans and Reports to the Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO)
Support and lead the donor and government permission request packages, including Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Letter of Understanding (LOU), work plan, staffing list, log frames, budgets, summaries of project activities, etc.) by utilizing donor -approved grant agreements, budgets and supporting documents for all newly awarded grants.
Create a good relationship with other agencies.
Facilitate and ensure timely signature of donor and government agreements.
File hard copies of all government reports, MOU’s and LOU’s.
Update trackers timely
Review components of agreements and share to the team-especially on articles that need attention and action
Support the team on contract issues as well as technical content.
Prepare and share out donor report templates on timely manner based on donor reporting requirements and MTI internal standards.
Support the Grant Coordinator on any grant and program related service
Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding.

Physical Conditions
This position requires frequent travel to health facilities, nutrition sites and protection program implementation areas located in remote areas with very basic living conditions.

Skills And Requirements:
Degree in humanitarian affairs, international relations, or another relevant course essential.
Certificate in Project and grant management is an added advantage.
Minimum of three years’ experience with international NGOs or donors in grant acquisition and management.
Experience in grant management, coordination, and LOU|MOU facilitation.
Experience in working with Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO)
Previous experience of similar positions is required.
Familiarity with health, Nutrition and protection Response is an added advantage.
Experience with writing, storytelling, or journalism is preferred.
Experience with photography is an added advantage.
Experience in emergency/Humanitarian context including developing country experience.
Experience working with Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) and US Department of State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (State/PRM), ECHO, UNFPA, WHO and other UN donors preferred.
