Tamra for Social Development Organization (TSD) is an indigenous civil society organization

Working for more than 26 years in different community development programs in Oromia, Addis Ababa, Sidama and South Ethiopia regions. Currently, the organization would like to recruit potential and talented candidates for the following position to substitute a maternity leave period.

Position summary:

  • Under the overall administrative and professional direction and supervision of

  • the Casher Accountant responsible for handling cash transactions, reconciling cash receipts, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing financial reports effectively integrated into all aspects of the project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Finance and Casher accountant position

Key Responsibilities:

Casher Accountant:

  • Handling cash transactions: The Cashier Accountant is responsible for receiving and disbursing cash payments accurately and efficiently.

  • Budgeting and financial planning: The Cashier Accountant may be involved in the budgeting and financial planning process of the Organization and assist in developing budgets, monitoring actual expenses against budgeted amounts, and providing financial analysis to support decision-making.

  • Financial reporting: The Cashier Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports for the NGO. This includes income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports as required by management

  • Managing petty cash funds: The Cashier Accountant may be responsible for managing petty cash funds, including disbursing funds for small expenses, reconciling petty cash balances, and replenishing the fund as needed.

  • Maintaining accurate financial records: The Cashier Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records related to cash transactions.

  • Support during audits: The Cashier Accountant assists with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and answering queries.

Job Requirements

Required Educational Qualification:

  • MBA/BA Accounting and Finance

  • 1 year of experience as a Casher Accountant NGOs/CSOs.

  • Excellent written and spoken skill in English and Amharic.

  • Excellent computer skill specially in MS-Excel,

  • Good interpersonal relationship, communication, negotiation and motivation skills.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and creative in solving problems.

  • Experience in any voluntary service is a bonus.

  • Willingness to carry out any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
