Under the general supervision of the OPD Head, the Client Care assistant guides clients to various service areas, including the reception, cashier, examination and consultation rooms, and other service corners like ultrasonographic service. Additionally, the Client Assistant, assists nursing staff and Senior consultant in performing essential nursing duties to ensure efficient delivery and client/patient care, adhering to standard medical practices and professional codes of conduct.

DUTIES/TASKS

General Duties:

• Assists clients in registration and triage services.

• Guides clients to examination rooms, delivery rooms, Pharmacy, laboratory unit, etc.

• Provides support to clients using lifts and wheelchairs.

• Presents as chaperone during medical examinations or procedures to provide comfort and protection for the patient.

• Facilitates client queues at registration, triage, examination, pharmacy, laboratory ultrasound service, etc.

• Maintains privacy and confidentiality of all of clients during service. 

• Performs related duties as required by the OPD Head.

Nursing Assistance:

• Performs nursing interventions such as taking Assists in taking blood pressure, temperature, and pulse of pregnant women, applying aseptic techniques, ensuring infection control, monitoring nutritional intake, and conducting specimen collection.

• Assists nurses and other providers in administering medication and observing/documenting therapeutic effects.

• Ensures the maintenance of high-level standards and applies universal precautions to prevent infection (e.g. HIV/AIDS) from blood or other body fluids of patients

• Assists in emergency treatment of pregnant women to manage symptoms like bleeding, vomiting, and nausea.

Instrument and Supply Management:

• Assists in preparing surgical instruments, sets, and medical supplies required for operations.

• Supports doctors during medical procedures

• Cleans and sterilizes the operating room and instruments.

• Accompanies patients on outside recreational activities.

• Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher for treatment or surgery.

• Carries messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments.

• Makes beds, examination coaches and maintains patients' rooms.
