Job Description
Human resources officers develop and implement strategies that help their employers select and retain appropriately qualified staff within that business sector. They recruit staff, prepare job advertisements, interview and short-list people, negotiate with employment agencies, and set up working conditions. Human resources officers also administer the payroll, review salaries and advise on remuneration benefits and employment law. They arrange for training opportunities to enhance employees' performance.
Ensures staff planning, recruitment, induction, development, appraisal, and performance management, and contract termination are in line with HR policies and procedures and the labor law;
Oversees and coordinates all HR administration tasks including benefits administration;
Handle vacancies announcements and follow up on the timely collection of applications;
Make preliminary screening of applications for further shortlisting and present them to the Hiring Manager;
Arrange appointments for short-listed candidates and contact candidates for exams/ interviews;
Shortlist and screen applications as per the requirement set for the position including conducting of background and reference check;
Ensure staff insurance, pension and other requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner;
Manage the employee files, benefits, and performance records in line with the HR guidelines and with confidentiality;
Handle leave requests and updated records timely to prepare quarterly utilization reports;
Build staff database and keep track of all relevant information;
Assist the senior HR officer to manage complaints in accordance with the HR Manual.
Completing termination paperwork and assisting with exit interviews;
Perform other duties as per the instruction of the department manager;
Academic qualification
Degree in Human Resource Management or related fields
Additional qualifications
Excellent organization and administration skills
Proven problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
Self-motivated and result-oriented
Good team player and able to communication well
Good knowledge of Ethiopia Labor Law
Years of experience:
2+ years of experience in the Human Resource Management field
