Job Description

Organization for Social Services, Health and Development (OSSHD) is an indigenous Ethiopian resident charity organization legally registered in Ethiopia to intervene in Social Health and Development programs targeting  the hard-to reach communities in Ethiopia .

Accordingly OSSHD would like to hire a competent and interested applicant for the position of Project Officer for Gambella Branch Office.

Salary : As per Organization’s scale and negotiable

Terms of Employment  : 4 Months contract with possibility of extension based on availability of budget and performance

Major Duties and Responsibilites:-

  1. Prepares annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project document

  2. Travels frequently to project areas and mobilizes related stakeholders and beneficiary communities as per the project activities and agreement signed with donors to fulfill the objective of the project

  3. Prepares and submits field visit reports, monthly and quarterly project revies reports, technical progress reports and financial reports to OSSHD

  4. Maintains coordination and linkage with various stakeholders at district level 

  5. Performs other related activities as assigned and required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • High levels of skills in project planning and management, demonstrated skills in prioritizing task and meeting deadlines

  • Strong communication, analytical and report writing skills with fluency in spoken and written English

  • Knowledge and skills in basic computing, demonstrated inter-personal skills in working with a multi-disciplinary team

  • Good knowledge and preferred experience on participatory research/development approaches, livestock management, community mobilization, market development and project development and implementation

  • Willingness and enthusiasm for working with rural and vulnerable communities living in remote areas of the country

  • Competence in MS Office

  • Excellent interpersonal skills-builds good relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Able to plan, prioritize and organize self and others

  • Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with flexible behavior

  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of OSSHD

  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:-  

  • BA/MA/MPH/MSc in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Social works or related fields of study with 8/6/4 years of relevant work experience. 

Skill : 

  • Strong leadership skill
