Introduction
In the framework of the Protect Amhara project, under the supervision of the Project Manager and Humanitarian Access Expert, CIFA is looking for 1 Cash Coordinator for Multi-purpose cash (MPC) support in South Wollo (Tehuledere and Dessie Zuria Woredas)
Organization
CIFA is an international NGO with over 40 years of commitment in protecting the most vulnerable children and youth. Working in Ethiopia for over 20 years, CIFA supports the access to primary and secondary education, especially for girls; it fights against the worst forms of discrimination and supports women’s economic empowerment. With this approach, CIFA currently works in Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa City Administration, Amhara (South Wollo), Hareri and Oromia Region.
Project
The Project “PROTECT Amhara: promotion of protection and access to health and nutrition services for internally displaced people and vulnerable communities in emergency situations” is a project that is planned to be implemented in Tehuledere and Dessie Zuria Woredas of South Wollo Zone and Debre Birhan City, Amhara Region. The project is financed by Italian agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
The Objective of the project is to Contribute to a rapid and effective humanitarian response in Amhara region to improve access to essential health services to vulnerable populations affected by conflicts in South Wollo and in Debre Berhan town.
Position
Cash Coordinator
Duration Contract
15 months, with 60 days probation period
Location
Dessie City, with periodic travels in project intervention Woredas; Tehuledere, Dessie Zuria Woredas of South Wollo, CIFA Head Office in Addis Ababa for training and/or coordination meetings, if needed
Key Tasks
The Cash Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of Multi-purpose cash (MPC) support activities under the supervision of the Project Manager and Humanitarian Access Expert.
These are the major tasks of Cash Coordinator:
· Lead all aspects of Multi-purpose cash (MPC) support related activities
· Coordinate project target selection in accordance to the project selection criteria’s in collaboration with DRM Office
· Coordinate and collaborate with Zonal cash working groups and other NGOs to gather and analyse cash-related data, such as accounts receivables and payables, and make actionable recommendations.
· Prepare and maintain accurate Multi-purpose cash (MPC) support forecasts, projected cash budgets, and cash flow analysis reports.
· Develop and implement cash management strategies, procedures, and controls to improve cash flow, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Identify and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and technology solutions that enhance cash management efficiency and accuracy.
· Ensure safe and effective implementation of Multi-purpose cash (MPC) support, by monitoring quality of eligibility assessments, frequency and quality of follow up, and providing direct technical support to staff engaged in the activity.
· Be the focal point for Multi-purpose cash (MPC) support in collaboration with Humanitarian access expert
· Identify any continued needs for training or capacity building support and facilitate trainings to the Multi-purpose cash (MPC) support team on the protection cash guidelines.
· Contribute to and support the development of work plans and training materials as needed
· Lead implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities related to the cash, including contribution to data collection tool design, organization of data collection, analysis and drafting of findings and recommendations.
· Monitor and manage bank relationships, including negotiating banking fees, maintaining banking documentation, resolving discrepancies, and optimizing banking services.
· Prepare quarterly, semi-annual and annual performance reports for the activities under his/her responsibility.
Qualification:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance and other related fields
Experience:
At least 4 years' experience in relevant fields is required;
Preferably experience with Internally displaced peoples (IDPs) and proven experience on Multi-purpose cash support
Previous experience working with INGOs or humanitarian organizations for 3 years;
Personal Skills:
Strong interpersonal and empathic skills, ability to analyze, report, work independently and in a team
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
Good management, administrative and communication skills;
Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for beneficiaries
Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting
High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
Establishes good relations with beneficiaries and local government representatives
Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Languages:
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal;
Excellent communication skills in Amharic, both written and verbal
Remuneration
The monthly basic salary is 29,550.00(Twenty-nine thousand five hundred fifty only, transport allowance is 2,200.00(Two thousand two hundred only), and11% pension 3,250.50 (Three thousand Two hundred fifty & 50/100 only) = Gross salary 35.000.50 ETB /
