Lead, managed, and oversaw the execution and overall efficient running of plant packaging function and processes and the achievement of the Sales & Operational Plan, delivering, on Time and In Full, final products of the required quality at the optimum possible cost by ensuring compliance to the BGI’s and Castel Group’s standards and consistently promoting and upholding quality of product and service that maintains the level of excellence associated with BGI’s brand.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, led, organized, staffed & controlled the department’s overall activities

• Design and implement procedures, systems, and tools to maximize departmental operating efficiency

• Coach, mentor, and develop employees through periodic performance evaluations and ongoing performance dialogue and feedback

• Oversee the packaging process to ensure the process and the product quality standards are met

• Participate in setting high-level KPIs of the group and enforcement of safety standards to ensure continuous improvements

• Actively collaborate with the Quality Department to interpret results (also making use of statistic tools) and use them as leverage for improvement

• Monitor and reduce extract losses whenever possible; monitor process improvement and make sure structural improvement plans are produced and implemented, also using TPM

• Ensure formal failure analysis techniques are applied to recover in case of breakdowns (for instance, Breakdown Analysis, 5Why),

• Ensure availability of spare parts that are needed for optimum operation of the plant and make necessary orders before failure of machineries.

• Ensure workplace health & safety protocols are practiced properly through effective coordination with the Health & Safety Coordinator

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager

Job Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of electro mechanics equipment maintenance

• Advanced knowledge of packaging technology

• Advanced knowledge of reading technical drawings and operation manuals

• Experience in reporting on key production metrics

• Organizational, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

• Advanced communication skills

• Advanced skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and conflict management.

• Advanced computer skill

• Very good English writing/reading/listening/speaking

Education

• The position requires a minimum of BSC Degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Electricity or Electronic Engineering

Experience

• 8 years of proven experience leading on plant/factory packaging function in an FMCG industry setting
